How Many Resurrections Are There?

Resurrection Or Resurrections?

There is only one physical Resurrection in scripture. There is no secret "Rapture" of the church. There is mention of two Resurrections in Revelation 20. The First Resurrection mentioned is a spiritual Resurrection (verse 6); when believers are "born again" (regenerated) from spiritual death. The second Resurrection (verse 12 - the dead are standing before God) occurs at Judgment Day (the Last Day or the Day Of The Lord).

Job 19:25-26   For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;
(26) And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God,

The following verses show that there is only one General (physical) Resurrection, which happens at the last day:

Daniel 12:2   And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame [and] everlasting contempt.
(both believers & unbelievers are raised)

John 5:28-29   "Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth - those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation."
(both believers & unbelievers are raised)

Acts 24:15   "I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of [the] dead, both of [the] just and [the] unjust.
(both believers & unbelievers are raised)

John 6:39   "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

John 6:40   "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 6:54   "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 11:24   Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."

1 Corinthians 15:52   in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Mark 13:19-20   For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. (20) And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
Matthew 24:21-22   For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. (22) And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
{If the Elect were raptured at the Great Tribulation, then why would the days need to be shortened for the Elect's sake? Why? This is further proof that there is ONE general resurrection and NOT a Rapture also.}
