GOD HAS THREE ANSWERS TO PRAYER -

1)  Yes
2)  No
3)  Not yet
A religious fast is a day to afflict & humble the soul and to seek the Lord; if it does not express true sorrow for sin, and does not promote the putting away of sin, it is not a true religious fast. Persons, families, neighbourhoods, churches, or nations, show repentance and sorrow for sin, by keeping a fast sincerely, and, from right motives, repenting, and doing good works. As sin and sorrow dry the bones and weaken the strongest human constitution; so the duties of kindness and charity strengthen and refresh both body and mind. Good works will bring the blessing of God, provided they are done from love to God and man, and wrought in the soul by the Holy Spirit.     {Isaiah 58}

IT'S A SIN TO NOT PRAY FOR OTHERS -

1Sam 12:23   Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

Jas 4:17   Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.

ASK & SEEK -

Matthew 7:7-11   "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (8) "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (9) "Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? (10) "Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? (11) "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

PRAY ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL -

1 John 5:14-15   Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. (15) And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

James 4:3   You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend [it] on your pleasures.

GOD HEARS THE PRAYERS OF THE RIGHTEOUS -

1Pet 3:12   For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.

Psalms 91:14-15   "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

Proverbs 15:8    The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to the LORD, But the prayer of the upright [is] His delight.

John 15:7   "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

1 John 3:22   And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

UNBELIEVER'S PRAYERS ARE NOT ANSWERED -

Proverbs 28:9    One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer [is] an abomination.

Proverbs 1:28-29   "Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD,

Isaiah 1:15   When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

Isaiah 59:2   But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden [His] face from you, So that He will not hear.

Micah 3:4   Then they will cry to the LORD, But He will not hear them; He will even hide His face from them at that time, Because they have been evil in their deeds.

James 1:6-7   But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

BE PERSISTENT -

Luke 18:1-8   Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, (2) saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. (3) "Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ (4) "And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, (5) ‘yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’" (6) Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. (7) "And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? (8) "I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"

Luke 11:5-8   And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; (6) ‘for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; (7) "and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? (8) "I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.

1Thes 5:17   Pray without ceasing.

(3) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, (4) who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, (2) "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. (3) "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (4) "I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. (5) "And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
(6) "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. (7) "Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. (8) "For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.
(9) "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. (10) "And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them.
(11) "Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. (12) "While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. (13) "But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. (14) "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. (15) "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. (16) "They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
(17) "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (18) "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. (19) "And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
(20) "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; (21) "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. (22) "And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: (23) "I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
(24) "Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. (25) "O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me.
